CA ROR Activities
California Reach Out and Read is working on a variety of activities to help individual sites achieve collective goals. Current activities include:
- Collaborative partnerships with libraries, adult literacy programs and other
community organizations
- Statewide publicity efforts to increase awareness and name recognition for
the program in California
- Statewide and regional book-buying strategies to further reduce the cost of
the books and increase the availability of culturally diverse and non-English
titles
- Statewide and regional funding strategies to eventually help underwrite the
cost of the books distributed by California ROR sites
- Development of a statewide infrastructure to help secure long-term sustainability
for all CA ROR sites
- Development and maintenance of a statewide CA ROR web site, listserv, and newsletter
